Post with 30 notes
Edit: I no longer make gifs this way, but it is one way of making them.
The way I make them is by recording a piece of gameplay or a clip form a movie with FRAPS. (Full versions are easily found. xD)
I then convert the fraps video to an MPEG file using a video converter.
Then once you’ve done that, open Photoshop. (I’m using CS5, and for this you can’t use the 64 bit version)
Click file - Import - Video Frames to layers.
Get the converted video file that you made and import it that way.
A thing will pop up when you do that, so just click ok.
Then once you’ve done that, you can delete bits along the animation bar (the thing at the bottom on the picture just shown) to make it smaller, or to get rid of unnecessary frames.
Then, if you’re finished, go to File - Save For Web & Devices and you can edit the size. (shown below)

Keep saving and overwriting until the file is under 500KB, as that’s Tumblr’s limit, I believe. Check by going to where you saved it, right clicking it and clicking properties. It should show you the file size there.
Edit: The GIF size limit is now 1MB.
And that’s it, that’s the way I make gifs. I’m sorry if that was a bad explanation, I tried my best. xD
Not a problem. :D Sweet, good luck with it. I hope this helped. ^^
